Alright guys I am laying the challenge out there. Today at kettlebell class Marty challenged us to do 200 kettlebell swings every single day of November! There are only two rules: THERE ARE NO RULES!
Kidding, there actually are rules, I just love to say that. The rules are:
- You have to do 200 swings every single day of November regardless of your workout
- You have to do it in 10 minutes or less
If you haven't done 200 kettlebell swings in under ten minutes before you are about to get crushed. It will kick your ass! What will 30 days of 200 kettlebell swings in a row do to you?
My guess is:
- Make you leaner
- Maker you hate me, then love me
- Make you tough as nails
I am going to do the kettlebell 200 rep challenge and I encourage you to join me and post your thoughts, musings or curses in the comments below. If you are down with the challenge just post your name below!
If you are scared, here is a video of a girl doing the challenge.

Damn, that is a challenging challenge. 53 pound KB for a guy, right? Or 70?

I'm game.
Hey Craig, 200 reps is challenging! 30 days of it should be hell.
I will be using a 53 lbs kettlebell because I will still be lifting 5-6 days week.
You could do it with a 70 lber if you are crazy enough!
Right on Jim, be sure to share your experience with us!
I sure will. I did the challenge not too long ago when I saw a post on it. It was painful and awesome. I'll keep notes and update once a week. - A little background on my workout regime - I do quite a bit of cycling, and have really just started implementing kettle bell training in effort to improve my all around conditioning. I lift as well, mainly squats and dead lifts. My goals would be to continually to improve my speed and endurance on the bike and getting leaner and stronger can only help.
Good luck to everyone who rocks this challenge!
i'm sticking to the 53 as well.
Nathan, I'm in on this one as I have been slacking of late so this will be just right to kick my ass back into gear!
Just realised that's one swing every 3 secs, ouch!
Rob
I used it a lot, but never on a daily basis. To get 200 isn't actually that difficult to achieve as I used it in my royal swinging routine. (just need to get used to the idea as at the start it seems so much). On the minute do 10 swings left, 10 swings right and the remaining of the minute I did hindu squats and I repeated that for 10-12 minutes finishing with some hindu pushups. Might be an interesting twist to do that daily. Probably will not be in this month but it will certainly be worth to do. For those attending, good luck and I look forward to read about your results.
It's true, 200 reps isn't that killer, but something you have to do every single day can't be or you will either break down or bitch out. Also, I think swings are one of the few exercises you could do every day without experiencing joint problems down the line.
Gunther, that swing, hindu squat, hindu push-up workout is pretty cool. Do you have a video of it?
Well doing 200 reps daily is a challenge I think. I decided to re-start the program minimum after 2 weeks of rest due to the back. I decided to do a light version of your idea by at the TGU day start with the 200 swing reps, so I am thoroughly warmed up.
Sorry I have no video of it, I do not have such equipment, so sorry about that.
I have done many workouts based around these 3 exercises, I feel they just work perfectly together.
Hey guys, it is November 25th now and I over 4000 swings deep now. Missed one day, doubled my swings the next to make up for it. I even brought my kettlebells to Edmonton so I would keep up with them.
Feel great. Had some tightness in my left hammy that a massage took care of. Conditioning improving but the fat isn't coming off as I hoped. How are you guys doing?
Just joined. I'm in... but I have 600 to make up. Can I make it up over a few days?
