40 isn't over the hill anymore!
When I owned a fitness store back in Ottawa, I would meet all kinds of people. I can't tell you how many mid-thirties men would come in, fat and weak with poor posture, telling me that couldn't train hard anymore and just wanted some kind of magic pill to make their belly dissapear. What losers!
You don't have to accept the body of a sloth just because you are getting on in years. Just turn on the TV and look at all the jacked athletes in their late thirties and early forties with abs and veins in their arms. If you eat well, sleep enough and stay active
There really is no excuse, and this goes for women too. At the gym I train at, there are a lot of middle age women who have popped out a few kids that have better bodies than the teenage girls who "train" there. Why? Because the young chicks eat crap and party, while the MILF's watch what they eat and train hard on a regular basis.
I am not saying that everyone should roll with a full six pack abs or anything, but age is not an excuse for obesity. Check out Herschel Walker fighting at 47 years old!
Or better yet, check out Denise Austin and the body she has maintained!

So true-I am 47, and now using kb's regularly and I love them. I did 4 Ironmans back in the 90's, but then got married and had a family, so I developed proverbial Budweiser tumor. But now at 47 and under the tutelage of an RKC II instructor, I will soon be in better shape than most 20-30 years younger. KB's can be a fountain of youth if used properly.
Enjoyed your post.
Cheers,
Chris
Also love the MILF poster-I call my wife a MILF all the time-LOL
Chris
That is great Chris! On our powerlifting team the best lifter is in his 40's and the best pound for pound lifter is in his 50's! And they both have abs!
Keeps us younger lifters hungry and humble.
Pretty good looking for her age.
Love posts like these. I'm 40 and I train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to keep fit, and until now I can still "whup" much younger and heavier opponents in the sparring sessions.
I stay fit for BJJ by doing kettlebell workouts alternate days. I find that if you are disciplined enough, you can still stay fit and strong despite getting "older".
