The Hangover

I am hurting today.

You see an old friend with a greasy mustache rolled into Calgary yesterday on his cross Canada board game tour. It had been a while since he had some bro time so he wanted to come over for dinner and then maybe go for a drink or two. Well a drink or two turned into meeting more friends, hitting 5 bars, and drinking until 5am. And all on a Thursday night!

It was great to see him again but when I woke this morning at 8am (note the 3 hours of "sleep") I was in a state of utter confusion. My condo was a mess, my mouth felt like a squirel died in it, my head hurt, and my entire body ached. To say I was hungover is an understatement, actually, I was still drunk!

Anyways, I am not recommending excessive drinking because we all know how hard it is on the body, and your wallet for that matter, but sometimes there is nothing better than friends, loud music, and consuming adult protein shakes.

The problem is as an athlete or serious trainer you need to recover quickly to get back on your game. Which brings us to the point of this post. Now initially I planned to attempt to write a post today on how to cure a hangover, but believe it or not I am too damned hung-over to think right now!

So start by getting some extra sleep, drinking more water, and eating nutrient rich foods like eggs and fruit. But for a really indepth article on hang-overs and how to cure or avoid them altogether, check out this article.

Do you have any crazy hang-over cures?
