Time to bring it!

I guess I owe my fans an apology! Today I received two separate complaints about the lack of new content that has been posted on this esteemed lately.

Sorry guys, but sometimes silly things like work and family get in the way of the most honorable hobby known to mankind, getting JACKED.

I get the message though. Just like the immortal Ultimate Warrior did every time he was in the squared circle, it's time to bring it once again. Time to get back to training like an animal and posting my training sessions up here to share with my iron brothers.

So, since you maniacs are so starved for training ideas I will post two workouts you can try out for fun.

Kettlebell Workout

This is a light workout I did on Monday to give my metabolism a little boost. It was done between a weekend of really heavy training and a Tuesday of well, more really heavy training! So keep in mind that I took it easy but if your energy and schedule permits, feel free to up the intensity.

  • Mobility Drills
    • joint circles and loosening up stuff
  • Dynamic Warm-up
    • body weight drills done in a circuit to get the blood flowing
  • Kettlebell Swing 1 x 50
  • 1 Arm KB Swing 1 x 50 (switching hands as you go)
  • KB Bottoms Up Clean 1 x 30
  • KB Figure 8 to Hold 1 x 20
  • KB High Pull 1 x 30
  • KB Snatch 1 x 30
That was all I did but like I said, if you can push it then go for it. Doubling the sets would probably make this a solid workout.

Upper Body Push-Pull

I just finished this workout tonight and it was at the gym where I received my second blog complaint of the day. Needless to say it lit a fire in my ass! The idea for this workout is to build some size in the upper body that is both functional and aesthetic (not exacerbating the slouched in looked from excessive benching without much back work).
  • Barbell Clean and Press
    • worked up to a max single
    • dropped it down to 75% and banged out 3 x 3
    • dropped it down to 55% and banged out 1 set to failure
  • Pull-ups
    • alternating grip each set
    • did 1 set between each set of cleans (gotta work that back to look hayooge!)
  • Barbell Curls
    • 2 x 8
  • Chain Dips
    • 2 x 10
    • chain dips are possibly the most manly exercise of all time, so I recommend them
That is it guys. Some kettlefun and some balls to the wall barbell lifting. Sounds like fun eh?
